We remove spiritual pollutants and replace them with holiness and purity because of God's presence among us.
Obedience requires us to have the right attitude, and Abraham serves as an example of 1) hearing God's commands; 2) understanding God's promises that underlie his commands; 3) keeping God's commands; and 4) having a worshipful demeanor while obeying.
Saul did not obey God's word and so the kingdom was torn away from him. Samuel's admonition to Saul was that he should have obeyed God's command. Likewise, Jesus tells us seek first God's kingdom and righteousness. We need to seek God's will, not our own, to find true spiritual growth.
