Luke 24 features a narrative depiction of early Christian worship that centers around their togetherness, scripture, the Lord's Supper, proclamation and testimony.
As Jesus makes his way towards Jerusalem (Luke 9:51), he exposes three misconceptions about faith and challenges his followers to practice true faith in the form of humility and repentance.
To turn away from temptation, trust in Jesus, who walked perfectly through temptation in the wilderness and embodied the obedience God desired.
The one who is served is greater, but Jesus, through his sacrifice, embodied sacrifice as service. To be like him, we become lesser through sacrifice and service.
